My name is Lucas Yesaki. I’m 22 years old and have lived in Victoria for all of my life. My mother is Canadian and my Dad is Japanese. Despite being half Japanese, I can’t speak the language and have never been to Japan. I also have two older sisters that both went through UVic.
I have attended UVic for 4 years now and was originally working to complete a biochemistry degree until I realized that wasn’t for me and made the switch to education. I grew up playing lacrosse and hockey but went further with hockey and played until I was 17. I feel like I learned a lot from my time in sports in terms of life skills and teamwork.
Additionally, I am a huge sports fan. My teams are the Canucks, Blue Jays, and Seahawks. I often find myself disappointed with these teams and question why I continue to support them because they are all not very good. I fear I may never witness the Canucks win the Stanley Cup.
My hobbies include golf and working out at the gym. I have been golfing for around 5 years now but I’m still not very good.
